We build alongside communities, not for them.
For over a decade, Kindred Foundation has worked alongside local leaders in twelve countries to design programs that outlast us, because the goal was never to be needed forever.
Started with one village, one well.
CSDR began with a single well in a village that had gone three dry seasons without reliable water. What started as one project became a question: what if every program we built was designed to make itself unnecessary?
Since then, we've worked alongside local leaders across a dozen countries, always starting with the same question - not “what do we want to build here?” but “what does this community need to no longer need us?”
Three commitments behind every program
Community-led, always
Every program is designed with the people it serves, not for them. Local leaders choose priorities, hire builders, and sit on the committees that govern each project.
Built to be handed off
Success isn't a community that depends on us forever - it's one that no longer needs to. We plan our own exit from day one.
Radically transparent
Every dollar is tracked publicly in our annual reports, down to the program level. We'd rather show our work than just claim it.
